5 Must-Haves in an Influencer's Camera Bag
As USA slow travel influencers, we have our favorite gear that we like to keep with us during our adventures. This includes our tripod, camera, drone and more.
One of our main goals while traveling to new areas is to really showcase what makes it unique. This means taking high-quality photos, creating videos, and even using equipment that can find the most beautiful aerial views. Because of this, we travel with a few different tools that we love.
Everything shown fits inside my camera bag except my tripod which is kept in its own convenient bag. This makes traveling with all the gear relatively easy.

1. Tripod

By far my favorite tripod EVER is the Cayer FP1450. It is incredibly durable so we no longer have to worry about the wind knocking over our phone and camera (ahem, crazy Grand Canyon winds) and it is adjustable in many ways. For example, it can be as low as 7.7″ or as tall as 63.7″, it swivels and it can even turn into a monopod.
Because it is so durable, it is also pretty heavy. We know a lot of travelers prefer a light-weight option so if that’s what you’re looking for, I wouldn’t get this Cayer version. For us, not having to worry about it falling over with our equipment on it is more important so it’s worth it.
2. Camera

We originally used the Canon Rebel EOS T4i body. We absolutely loved the photography we captured around the world with this.
Since 2023, we have switched to the Sony a7iii body. The upgrade was brought on by the growing need for video features that our Canon just couldn’t do. If you have the money to spend on a great camera, you won’t regret this one. While it took us a while to completely figure out, the features are easy to use for both photography and videography. Plus, Sony produces wireless shotgun mics! We use the ECM B10.
3. Lens

Right now we just use the lens that came originally with our camera. It is the Canon EF-S 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS II SLR. The picture quality is good enough for us right now but it’s not as high-quality as we would like.
To help with that, we are looking to purchase a Sigma 24mm f/1.4 DG HSM next to help with our video and image quality because of its wide-angle lens.
4. Drone

Our newest addition is our drone, a DJI Mini 2. We made sure to get the Fly More Combo which came with additional wings, three batteries and a charging hub.
This drone shoots video and takes pictures in 4k and is incredibly light. Because of this, taking it with us on hikes or adventures is easy.
It all comes in one carrier that easily fits at the bottom of our camera bag. However, you can also carry the drone and it’s gear in the carrier it comes in if you just want to take that with you.
5. Useful Add-ons
It’s not just the big gear that’s important. We also travel with a lot of smaller tools to make our lives easier. We have all the following:
• Camera remote so we can take pictures from a distance on demand.
• SD Card Adapter that reads both our drone/GoPro card and our camera card and transfers the images and videos directly to our phone. This is probably one of my FAVORITE and cheapest purchases.
• SanDisk SD Card to shoot in 4K
